v7.

1. Prayerful reflection

Spend a few minutes reflecting on each of these scriptures depicting the loving values God is continuing to call his people to express. Think of those who need our support in the news or known to you personally.

Learn to do right; seek justice.

Defend the oppressed.

Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of

the widow.

(Isaiah 1.17)

Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts.

(Amos 5.15)

Even though you bring me burnt offerings

and grain offerings, I will not accept them.

But let justice roll on like a river,  righteousness like a never-failing stream!  (Amos 5.22 & 24)

2. Action

If we have all we need and see one of our own people in need, we must have pity on that person, or else we cannot say we love God.' (1 John 3.17)

These four charities all seek to extend our love in practical ways that enable people to have the quality of life we would want for them.
