Extended Communion with the Reserved Sacrament is intended as a means of facilitating regular reception of Holy Communion. In this service the Reserved Sacrament (previously consecrated by a Priest) is distributed by suitably trained lay people with the approval of the Area and Diocesan Bishops. Extended Communion indicates that the lay person “extends” the Communion, celebrated within the Benefice by our Priests, across the whole Benefice.

07:00-17:00 - Parish Prayer Day

Participants will be able to access prompts and inspiration for prayer on the website or a printed copy (available in church) and pray anywhere at any-time for any length of time. However, as done previously we hope that many of you will sign up to pray for a particular hour of the day between 7am and 4pm. For the concluding hour, 4-5pm, there will be group prayer in St. Peter and St. Paul’s led by the Monday Prayer Group. 14:00 - Ivy Barber’s Memorial Service

This will be held in Wem Parish Church and led by Canon William Price. Her ashes will be interred in the churchyard following the service and all who knew and remember her are to welcome to attend

The post of Rector has been advertised, the closing date for applications is 19th August.


The August magazine has been published.


The Church is now open for private prayer on weekdays from 09:00 – 15:00


NEW CHOIR


From September we are planning to have a Sung Eucharist on the First Sunday of the Month.  Glyn Williams (our new organist) has kindly agreed to hold a choir practice at 19:30 – 20:30 on the Thursday before the First Sunday of the month.  The first practice will be on Thursday 1st September. If you would like to join this new choir please contact Kim Archer on 07970 357553.
